Our Provider​

"To empower individuals to live independently in their communities by creating safe and affordable housing and enhancing it with the most appropriate high-level supportive services available."

 

This is the mission of our service provider. They have been providing human service and housing programs all across Massachusetts including permanent supportive housing and person-centered home care support for five decades, with close to two decades of experience in the MassHealth Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC) program.

The agency provides support services at numerous privately-owned homes for young adults and adults with a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities. These homes, located in desirable residential neighborhoods, offer long-term, stable, supportive living environments for residents, who typically have autism spectrum disorders, and a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Each resident has their own private room, with a shared bath and ample common space, including fully equipped kitchen and laundry.

Each home is staffed by a Residence Manager and has a separate two bedroom apartment for live in staff who are on site during the overnight hours. Staff are educated to work with individuals with special needs, individually and in groups. Our model is a Collaborative Living Support program that combines family and staff support. Our philosophy is to encourage and support the highest level of independence for residents – in home settings in which every resident lives their best possible life.

Our Homes

We offer our residents a modern, convenient and safe property they are proud to call their home. All residents have a private room with shared bathrooms. They are free to create their own personal living space within the setting of the group. Monitored, state of the art fire protection systems and second floor egress help keep our residents safe, while ​central air conditioning and efficient heating systems keep them comfortable.

Each home has a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, large furnished common areas and an on site laundry room. There is house wide WiFi and cable television in the common living areas. In addition, each home has off street parking for guests.

 

Our professionally landscaped lots are meticulously maintained with an abundance of perennial flowers, shrubs and trees. The interior of our homes receive just as much attention with a weekly cleaning service for all common areas, kitchens and bathrooms, keeping everything in like new condition.

Our Locations

The locations of our homes have been carefully chosen to meet the needs of our residents. They are all in a beautiful residential setting with spacious, private lots. They are also close to grocery stores, fitness centers, pharmacies and other shops, many of which are within walking distance. All of our homes are within the MBTA "The Ride" service area, a short walk to the MBTA bus route, and close to the MBTA commuter rail. With Uber and Lyft accessible to our residents, there are many safe transportation options to choose from.

All of our homes are situated in prime locations, with easy access to many employment and volunteer opportunities.  They are also conveniently located within a short distance of each other. This proximity produces many chances for social interaction and diverse activities at the different residences. The Town of Norwood has been very welcoming and supportive of the diversity our homes bring to the community. Our local and state legislators have offered continued support of the homes and residents, as well as this housing program.
